Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is an honor to be the principal at Palisades Elementary School! My focus is to encourage all students to do their very best, academically and behaviorally, each school day. I enjoy being an elementary principal and setting a fun tone at school for students, staff members, and parent volunteers. Unless I have a meeting, I will be in the parking lot to help with traffic, and to greet students before and after school. I also like to visit classrooms on a regular basis and interact with students during recess.

To let you know a little about myself, I have been with the Capistrano Unified School District since 1987 and this is my twenty-third year as an elementary school principal. Starting out as an elementary school teacher, I eventually became an assistant principal and summer school principal. I have also been a summer school teacher and summer school principal at Palisades.

When I was hired as a full-time principal, I had the honor to be the first principal at Bathgate Elementary School in Mission Viejo (Go Blazers!). After spending four years as the principal at Bathgate, I was thrilled to be named the principal at Wood Canyon Elementary School in Aliso Viejo and remained there for four years (Go Comets!). I was then selected to be the principal at Moulton Elementary School in Laguna Niguel and had the privilege to be their principal (Go Hawks!). After being at Moulton for five years, I was excited to be named the principal at Ambuehl Elementary School in San Juan Capistrano and remained there for seven years (Go Eagles!).

On a personal note, I grew up in Huntington Beach and have lived in San Clemente since 1987. I recently celebrated my twenty-seventh wedding anniversary with my wife and have three children. My interests include surfing and cartooning.

Feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail, or see me in person if you have any questions during the school year.

Sincerely,

Curt Visca
Principal
